About EXCEL Sierra Leone
EXCEL seeks to pioneer the transformation in Sierra Leone’s system of education in order to develop a culture of academic excellence. This transformation would focus on empowering the next generation to become leaders, creatives, innovators, thinkers, and change-makers who are not only inspired but compelled to re-define Sierra Leone.

The Ebola Viral Disease (EVD) has put considerable strain on Sierra Leone's already fragmented and fragile education system.

Therefore EXCEL Education presents programming aimed at bridging the gap for children and youth affected by ebola, by supporting their academic development and psychosocial wellbeing. EXCEL is on mission to ensure ebola does not define the future of our children and youth by investing in their success beyond circumstance.

In April of 2015 EXCEL will re-launch the program by bringing together some of the most promising University students from the Fourah Bay College of Social Work. Students will train to become EXCEL Mentors. EXCEL Mentors will work along the EXCEL Management Team to provide academic support, leadership development, and psychological social support to youth and children affected by Ebola specifically survivors, orphans, vulnerable children (OVCs), and school going pregnant girls and mothers.
