The evolution of the hospitality industry (due to the influx of tourists) particularly in the West African sub-region is making the need for proper infrastructure in the entire continent a very vital one. In Sierra Leone, the hospitality industry is undergoing a revival, since 60% of her infrastructure was destroyed during a decade of civil war, which ended in 2002.
As part of the revitalization of the industry, which will have a positive impact on the growth of the Sierra Leonean economy, The Wusum Hotel project seeks to address vital issues that correspond with tourism, thus the provision of temporary accommodation. The project seeks to; provide luxurious yet affordable accommodation, achieve a minimum average of 65%occupancy throughout 2010, increase exposure and market to other provinces nation-wide as well as internationally, and increase off-season occupancy by 20% annually.
