About Xtreme Africa
Xtreme Africa was setup in 2018 by James Torvaney, an ultramarathon runner who fell in love with Sierra Leone's rugged landscapes and wonderful people.
Since then we have taken almost 200 clients on unique and epic adventures such as white water rafting and mountaineering expeditions, immersing them into West African cultures along the way. We have trained more than a dozen Sierra Leonean guides, providing jobs and incomes for many more. We take our civic duty very seriously.
Our trips are not 'touristy', and they are not aimed at budget travelers. They can be physically and mentally demanding, and require your to challenge your existing worldviews. We go places tourists have never been before, and means unscripted challenges along the way, but we endeavour to provide the highest level of comfort possible at all times, and we never compromise on safety. Our end-of-trip beach parties are legendary, and the people and experiences on an Xtreme Africa trip will stay with you for a lifetime.
