About Association for Women and Children at Risk
The purpose of The Association For Women and Children At Risk [AWCR] is to raise awareness on the vices of GBV especially early/forced marriage and its negative impact on girls thereby reducing their productivity. Consequently; the AWCR’s aim is to raise funds to bring back the lost pride of vulnerable women and girls through education and capacitating them for sustainable development.
The charity was set up to highlight the importance of educating girls and the risks of early/forced marriage and teenage pregnancy.
We have established enablement and ability platforms in 7 communities and 25 schools where women and girls shared their hurts and ways in which they could be alleviated. We have also set up mini projects where order wise trodden upon talents are tuned into useful hands creating and designing clothing, textiles and other accessories available for sale. Proceeds from all sales will go towards The Association For Women And Children At Risk fund.
Our projects will focus on developing communities in Sierra Leone especially children, girls forced into early marriage/teenage mothers and marginalized women.
